Israel–Hamas War: The bodies of six hostages have been found in a Hamas tunnel near Rafah (Palestinian city) in the southern Gaza Strip. Among them is the body of an American citizen, identified as Harsh Goldberg-Polin (23). The other five dead were identified as Eden Yerushalmi (24), Carmel Gat (39), Almog Sarusi (26), Alex Lubnov (32) and Ori Danino (25).
After the bodies of six hostages were found, Israeli forces raided the town of al-Fakhri, southeast of Khan Younis, while artillery fire was also carried out. The Israeli army confirmed that the bodies recovered from Gaza were those of the hostages taken on October 7. The Israeli army IDF and Shin Bet said that Hamas had killed six hostages during their captivity.

US President Joe Biden was furious and warned Hamas bluntly that it will now have to pay the price for its crimes. The White House, the official residence and office of the US President, said that Hamas is a rogue terrorist organization. With these killings, there is even more American blood on its hands. Joe Biden further said, “Harsh Goldberg-Polin’s parents, John and Rachel, have shown courage and wisdom during the accident. They have endured unimaginable suffering. I admire them and express my deep condolences to them, which cannot be expressed in words. I know that all Americans will include them in prayers tonight. I have worked tirelessly to bring Harsh to safety. I am shocked by the news of his death. It is as sad as it is reprehensible.”
The US President said in a stern tone, “Make no mistake, Hamas leaders will pay the price for these crimes. We will continue to work around the clock to reach an agreement to ensure the release of the remaining hostages.” There is a crossing between the Gaza Strip and Egypt at Rafah, through which aid can be sent directly to Gaza without entering Israel.
